What Does It Take to Make Money Online?

Let’s assume you’ve never had a website, don’t know how to get a merchant account, don’t know html, and are pretty much stuck with being an expert on sending and receiving email. What’s there for you to do online to make money? Lots, in fact! These days are not at all like a couple of years ago or even six months ago. If I only had all the opportunities to make money online when I started marketing! Here is a list of things you can do with just a website and a hosting account today: Sell affiliate products (products like reports, ebooks, hard goods of every conceivable make, model, size, shape and function, and much, much more). Sell services (do you know how big a business being a Virtual Assistant is these days? It’s quite amazing what you can do for people without ever meeting them face-to-face, anywhere in the world!) Online auctions (Ebay has made thousands and thousands of people full-time incomes from auctioning collectibles, antiques, and even brand new equipment and gadgets of all imaginable types. You name it, it has been sold on Ebay!) Membership sites: Know of any groups of people that would love to get insider information on virtually any topic? I love helping people make their first few sales. After that, they are always hooked and cannot do enough to learn everything there is to know about how to make money online. Many people I have worked with now have a couple to several websites selling everything from reports to hard goods that can be shipped direct to their customers. Most people start out to make money online as affiliates of certain products or authors. This is a great way to get your feet wet and learn what making money online is all about. People then either work to create their own products (which they get 100% of the profits from) or expand their website into other related niches. Made £6!!!

My goodness, I made some money!
Well, it was only £6 but better than nothing.
Here is how I did it:

1. Joined Shop at Amazon.co.uk!

2. Trawled around for Dropshippers. What a lot of time that took!

3. Joined this one: Supreme Dropshipping

4. Went through the catalogue and checked out the items against the prices on Amazon and picked a few. Put these up for sale on Amazon.

5. Waited for someone to order one - and they did! If you can't sell something at this time of year then there is no hope for the rest of the year.

6. Ordered the item to be drop shipped. Just have to wait now to see if it all works out.

Information overload!

Goodness - I have been saturated with information on how to make money! So much to choose from, so much hype and BS! Who do you believe? Very difficult to actually get to the bottom of how people are making money on the internet. I am pretty sure that some of the claims are true and that there is a minority of people making good money. Sorting out the truth from the downright lies is a bit more tricky.

One claim that is all over the internet is that you can make money doing surveys. Have I tried it - yes. Have I made any money - a little.

1. Beware - do not pay money for lists of survey companies. The information is freely available if you know where to look for it.

2. Don't believe the claims that you can make a good living out of this. So far I have made small amounts of Paypal that I have spent on Ebay - and that is it.

I belong to several survey opportunities. Don't forget that you are limited as to which surveys you are offered. When a company commissions a survey they are usually looking for a particular group of people - a certain age, income group, demographic location etc. So when you join you start with a short survey about yourself. This will enable the survey company to decide which surveys to offer you. If you don't fit the profile - you wont get offered the survey.

The next point is that it is VERY BORING.

Give it a try. Remember - if your demographic profile is different to mine you may get more out of it. You get points for doing the surveys and you redeem the points for gifts, vouchers or Paypal.

Actually made some money!

Yes - I have made some money at last. How? Good old Ebay. Is there anyone in the world that hasn't heard of Ebay?? Maybe. If not click here:

If you click on this banner, join ebay and do some buying and selling - I get paid! More about that later. Anyway, I needed some fast money so I scratched around and found some surplus stuff to sell. Some sold, some didn't. The fees can be a bit frightening but overall I made enough money to settle some urgent bills. Result! Let's face it - it's the first thing you should do when you're broke. we all have tons of stuff that we buy when we are flush and when we are skint we need to recycle the money!

I have also bought a few things - money-making ideas that were really rubbish. The best things in life are free! Don't ever forget that - I do - all of the time! I have a free e-book (in fact I have several) and if you would like a copy, you can have it - FREE! Not sure how I get it to you yet. I'll find out! I think that there is a free space somewehere online where you can store these things and then I just post the link to it.

Back to Ebay - how do I get paid for your membership? Follow these steps:
1. Join Commission Junction as an advertiser. Basically you can become an affiliate of loads of really good companies. Someone buys through your link - you get paid! How simple is that. And they are not obscure companies that no-one has ever heard of. There are endless possibilities here - let your imagination go wild! I have a few ideas that I am working on. I will let you know as soon as anything bears fruit.

Couple of ideas to try

Stumbled across this - can't remember how. This is called More Niche.

Free to join - in fact they put $15 in your account for joining. If you make some posts in the forum they give you another $10. What's the catch? They don't pay you until you have $100. Still, there are lots of resources and ideas AND people do seem to be making money with this. Well worth a try. It doesn't look easy and there IS work to do. I'll let you know how I get on.

Selling a few things on ebay right now - out of necessity. This all takes a lot of time!

Here's another idea I came across in the last couple of days - get paid to post to blogs. They pay you $20 for the first one and then you look for opportunities and get paid for the successful ones. There is a referral programme so you can introduce other people and get paid tht way too. FREE to join.

I am broke....

Well - I am really, really broke. I am going to have one last try at making a few pounds on the Internet. I will post here all of the things that I am trying and will give an honest appraisal of how I am doing. Check out the lists on the right. I will add to this as I go along.

I have had a flurry of activity over the last couple of days and I am pretty much on information overload right now. I will need to stop looking for new things and try to digest all of the information that I have gathered so far. This could take a while! I have bought a few e-books (very cheap ones) and joined a few things.

I have tried so many things in the past that I can't remember them all! As I rediscover them I will try to comment here so tht you will be saved from making the same mistakes that I have made.
